Educating advocates and scholars where rigorous analysis meets the rule of law.
At the heart of justice and public service, the Department of Law is committed to shaping the advocates, judges and legal scholars of tomorrow. Explore a discipline where rigorous analysis meets principled argument, and where sound reasoning turns legal doctrine into justice.
The Department strives to shape the future of legal education by combining rigorous academic study with research and practical exposure. With an emphasis on moot court advocacy, case analysis and legal drafting, we prepare students to identify, analyse and resolve legal problems with professional and ethical responsibility.
Law is a broad discipline covering the frameworks that govern every society — constitutional and administrative law, criminal law and procedure, civil and property law, corporate and commercial law, and public international law. Students learn how these fields interact, and how sound legal reasoning turns principle into remedy.
The Department offers a four-year undergraduate programme, the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons), designed to meet the academic requirements for enrolment with the Bangladesh Bar Council, alongside a one-year Master of Laws (LL.M) for graduates seeking advanced specialisation. Graduates go on to careers in advocacy and the judiciary, corporate and compliance practice, public administration, human rights and development organisations, and academia — at home and abroad.
